About Neat Drape

Neat Drape is a small set of free tools for the soft furnishings in a home: how big curtains should be and how much fabric they take, how to measure a window for a blind, what size of tablecloth suits a table, how bed and duvet sizes compare between countries, and what size of rug a room needs.

How it works

Every calculation runs in your browser. The numbers you type are not sent to a server, and the tools keep working if you lose your connection after the page has loaded. The blind measuring guide can keep a list of your windows; that list is stored in your browser's local storage on your device and nowhere else.

Where the numbers come from

Rules of thumb such as curtain fullness, tablecloth drops or the space a dining chair needs are not laws, and different shops and makers give different figures. Each page names its sources, shows ranges where they disagree, and labels the few allowances that are our own assumptions. Bed and bedding sizes vary by maker, so treat the chart as a guide and check the product's own dimensions before you buy.

The site has no ads and no accounts. It is an independent project; it does not sell curtains, bedding or rugs and is not connected to any of the shops or makers it cites.
